Hi, I’m Thea Dodds and I started Authentic Eye in 2004. I had a turning point in my photojournalism career that year after photographing one too many house fires and car accidents.  I started photographing weddings to season my week with a little happiness. I never expected was that I would fall in love with photographing weddings. So I went for it, I quit my day job and started Authentic Eye. And I am so happy I did!

One of my favorite parts of a wedding is everything that leads up to the day itself; It’s getting to know my clients and their unique approach to their wedding. There are many things that happen at every wedding, like a kiss at the end of the ceremony, but no two weddings are at all the same. I love finding out how and why my clients are designing their wedding to better fit who they are. I get to know my clients really well by listening to the details that are important to them and this makes me a better photographer on the wedding day.
